I'm listening to Temporalites through these really cheap and unapologetically red headphones and I just love the arrays of bit crushed sounds that they burst. Amidst the elaborate cut, crop and organization of these randomly feeling sounds, there’s an intelligent use of melodies. And although they don’t stand up front they are what unifies this six song release.The 0’s and 1’s are used in an percussive way but feel extremely anti-metronimical. They have that familiar sound of a computer generated distortion. That washy ending that sounds like sand in a plastic bag just feels adequate along the cymbal feeling melodies.
There’s no anarchy and every sound has it’s purpose and you can see it when the songs turn more narrative oriented .
Looking one more time to the unbearable redness of my headphones, I see they just go along with the out-of-place feel of those bits and bobs arranged in a way, that only a sophisticated, highly editing-proficient child would do.
